Don Miller

Co-hosts Don Miller and Larry Fuller have been broadcasting two hours of oldtime radio programs on Nostalgia Theater every Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 am since December 2002.

 

Larry Fuller is co-host to the popular Nostalgia Theater on 1360 KSCJ radio in Sioux City. An ex-Marine, Larry is an avid collector of early radio and television broadcast memorabilia. He co-hosted, along with Don Miller, the three-hour live broadcast of the Great Plains Radio Theatre Halloween performance at the Orpheum Theatre.

 

 

HUMANITIES IOWA

Humanities Iowa is the only non-profit organization in Iowa committed to bringing the humanities to life and to the public through interactive programming, publications, and events. Humanities Iowa was founded in Iowa in 1971 and is an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities in Washington D.C. We provide grants to aid other non-profit organizations in furthering the humanities in Iowa as well as conduct our own programs in support of the humanities across Iowa. Each year, we serve over 70,000 Iowans with humanities programming and projects totaling over $1,500,000.

Humanities Iowa has supported GPR and the Humanities Department of Western Iowa Tech for related projects beginning with the GPR production of The War of the Worlds. They continued to support GPR with the performance of An Evening of Radio Mystery Theatre, and the Halloween Radio Science Fiction Theatre.

The grants provided by the Humanities Iowa were written by Ralph Swain, GPR president and Paul Guggenheimer, GPR vice-president and accepted in fiscal year terms 2007and 2008.

 

THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES

NEH is an independent grant-making agency of the United States government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities.

The National Endowment for the Humanities has supported GPR and the Humanities Department of Western Iowa Tech for related projects since October 2006 beginning with the production of The War of the Worlds and continued to support GPR with the performance of   Halloween Radio Science Fiction Theatre in October of 2007.

The grants provided by the The National Endowment for the Humanities were written by Ralph Swain, Paul Guggenheimer, and Kerry Vondrak in Fiscal years 2007 and 2008.

KMNS 620 AM radio is owned by Clear Channel Communications and has four sister stations in Sioux City. KMNS is part of the Fox Sports network.

KMNS supported GPR’s production of The War of the Worlds. They re-broadcast this live performance on Halloween night 2006.
